The Gloucestershire printer was without water for 10 days during the July flooding, but was able to print normally, running the processless plates on its Komori Lithrone and Heidelberg Speedmaster and GTO presses.
The 73-strong firm had not planned to move over to the plates until later in the year.
Severnprint pre-press manager Lyndon Murray said: “We had only recently installed Pro-T, and our plan was not to put the plates into full production until the autumn. However, we had no option but to start using the plates immediately.”
“We’re an extremely busy printer and having to shutdown or outsource over a ten-day period would have been disastrous.”
Fuji plates save Severnprint
Severnprint has hailed its Fujifilm Pro-T processless plates for enabling it to produce more than 100 plates a day without a water supply during the summer floods.
