Equipped with Ricoh Gen 5 printheads, and with CMYK, primer, white and clear configuration, the 3.2x2m press will allow Fuel4 Print to expand its POS offering.
The new press, which arrived on 23 June, now sits alongside the 15-strong print company’s existing stable of a SwissQprint Impala flatbed, two HP Latex 360s, and a Latex 365.
Fuel4 Print bought the press new from its long-term supplier, central London print equipment distributor Colyer.
The company had considered investing in another SwissQprint machine, but the decision was clinched by the Acuity Prime L’s large print bed size, which suited its focus on POS display work, according to Amanda Mizsei, Fuel4 Print’s marketing manager.
The business also chose the new press for its versatility, praising the utility of the white and clear ink options.
The press, which has five vacuum zones and jettable primer, is likewise suited to a wide range of media; which made it ideal for the mix of rigid and flexible media that Fuel4 Print would use it for, Mizsei said.
Fuel4 Print’s typical workload includes jobs from retail outlets, office fit outs and airports, turning over £1.2m annually.
