The table is designed to transport banded items from the Palamides Delta strapping and stacking series to a shrink wrapping machine. It can be retrofitted to all Automatic Delivery Delta machines, also available from Friedheim.
Friedheim sales manager for post-press and packaging Stuart Bamford said: "We are seeing a growth in demand for items to be shrink wrapped as boxing is so much more expensive than film wrap. Enabling the Palamides Automatic Delivery to be linked in line with a shrink wrapper saves on labour and time.
"Most companies that do have a Palamides have more than one and using shrink wrapping gives significant cost and labour savings over boxing."
The roller table is height adjustable and wide enough to handle multiple-up production.
It can be run inline with automatic wrapping machines, such as the new Audion CS Matic recently launched by Friedheim, packaging machines, shrink tunnels, side welding machines and angle welding machines.
Meanwhile, the Baumann-Wohlenberg BSW3 LV pile turner, also distributed exclusively by Friedheim in the UK, has been updated to improve press feeding.
It has been fitted with a third aeration nozzle which provides more air at the same energy consumption levels. This enables more effective sheet separation to reduce the likelihood of stoppages and jams during feeding, and accelerates drying for fresh print.
Bamford added that Friedheim is looking to launch the Palamides Cara and Fima mail sorting lines, originally shown at Drupa in the prototype stage, in summer when the final models are ready for use.
