Former finance controller jailed

The former financial controller of Packaging Services Management in Monmouth, part of DS Smiths plastics operations, has been sentenced to three and a half years in jail after being convicted of stealing 343,000 from the company.

Alan Watkins reportedly stole the money to keep his wife happy. Watkins, 33, was rumbled after a complaint to Gwent fraud squad last November.
