Flint Group to debut new products at American show

Flint Group Flexographic Products is gearing up to unveil two new products at next week's Labelexpo Americas in Chicago, Illinois.

US-based Flint Group will hand North American debuts to both its nyloflex FAB printing plate and rotec Hybrid Sleeve at the trade show, which runs from 9 to 11 September.

The FAB printing plate, which uses a different polymer technology to the rest of the nyloflex range, can achieve some of the highest print quality attainable from photopolymer plates.

Dan Rosen, sales director at Flint Group, said: "With a durometer of approximately 62 Shore A and resolution easily exceeding 200lpi screen count, the high ink compatibility and improved flexibility of nyloflex FAB provides a much needed step forward in capability for the label market."

Although developed specifically for narrow web printing with UV-curable printing inks and smaller press cylinders – making it ideal for label printing – Rosen believes the FAB will have wider appeal.

He said: "We also foresee the benefits of this product ranging well beyond label printing, into the broader flexo packaging market as the plate performs well with other ink systems."

Meanwhile, the company expects its rotec Hybrid Sleeve, which has a new fibreglass construction, to allow shortened lead times for orders.

Rosen said: "Stemming from highly automated systems and new material development, our rotec Hybrid Sleeve will be able to serve the market better with this new type of fibreglass base.

"Lead time and product consistency are always very important factors in the sleeve business. We are now able to meet and exceed expectations, plus control costs while providing product quality and consistency that's at a totally new level."
