Flint said the medium hard digital photopolymer plate was suitable for a wide range of applications, especially printing flexible packaging with solvent-based inks, and usable with a variety of absorbent and non-absorbent substrates, from textured to very smooth.
The plates offer a tonal range of 1-98% at 150lpi and are capable of printing fine process details as well as smooth solids. They have a high resistance to solvent based inks, are suitable for water-based inks, and conditionally suitable for UV inks (ethyl acetate content preferably below 15%, ketone content preferably below 5%).
Flint also said that the plates offer finer highlight dots and lower dot gain compared to traditional plates on the market of the same durometer range, because they require a lower impression setting.
Nyloflex FAM digital plates are available in 1.14mm and 1.7mm thicknesses and are also said to offer a long run life with fewer cleaning stops on press.
