More than 70 firefighters brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading from the firm's offices into the ink containment area.
A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire and Rescue told printweek.com that a joint investigation with the local police was under way and that the cause of the blaze was "unconfirmed".
"We will be carrying out a lot of work over the next two days and hope to know more by the weekend," the spokesperson said.
The fire was attended by fire teams from nearby areas, including Elmswell, Bury and Haverhill, and a water carrier from Newmarket was also called in.
In a statement to the Evening Star 24 website, assistant divisional officer Karl Rolfe said the potential causes of the fire were being examined and eliminated one by one but said he expected it to be "a lengthy investigation".
He added that the building was "structurally unsound, meaning there are certain parts we cannot access".
