Jon Hutton has officially joined the Fespa UK team, after working with the association for three years as an independent advisor.

Joining the wide-format print association on 1 August, Hutton will take up the role of business development executive, providing support to members and helping the group to grow.

Over his three years as advisor to the team, Hutton helped Fespa UK make significant progress on its sustainability efforts, including helping build the Fespa UK Waste Academy and Waste Accreditation, which helps wide-format firms manage their material wastage and product lifecycles.

Fespa UK managing director, Suzi Ward, told Printweek that Hutton had been “integral” to the launch and development of both the Academy and its accreditation.

She said: “Jon has been working closely with the association for more than three years, and with the Champions part of our accreditation taking off, and us receiving over 140 referrals in the first three months of this stage of the project, now seemed like the perfect time for Jon to join the team officially.”

The Waste Academy now has seven courses accredited by the CPD education body; the Fespa UK Waste accreditation, which offers a total waste management process for print, signage and graphics firms, has now been supported by a number of ‘champions’ throughout the industry, helping to promote best practice.

“Although Jon will continue to lead our sustainability projects, he will also help the association to create and develop meaningful events and initiatives and will support our next generation committee in developing their ideas,” Ward said.

“Jon will be working directly alongside me to grow and strengthen the association and the ways we support our valued members, and he will be gaining more of an understanding of how the association is run and how we work with Fespa and our global community.”

Hutton said: “After working with Suzi and the team for the past few years, I'm thrilled to officially join Fespa UK.

“The landscape of sustainability within our industry has improved immensely over the last few years, with Fespa UK being a key driving force, and I'll continue to push this agenda forwards.

“I've operated in the UK printing industry for over 20 years now, and it's an industry that is close to my heart, so I'm absolutely delighted with the opportunity of developing the signage and graphics sector within a world class association like Fespa UK.”
