More than 250 suppliers have already confirmed their presence at the show and Fespa said there are many more active discussions in progress.
The event sponsors among the exhibitors include Durst, Mimaki, Brother, and HP. Other major manufacturers signed up so far include Agfa, Aleph, Canon, EFI, Epson, Fujifilm, Kornit Digital, Mutoh, M&R, Roland DG, and SwissQprint.
Media and consumables suppliers set to exhibit include 3A, Ahlstrom Munksjö, Avery Dennison, Hexis, Inktec, Neenah Coldenhove, Neschen, Orafol, Poli-Tape, and Sun Chemical.
Barbieri Electronic, Caldera, OneVision, and Onyx Graphics, meanwhile, are among the companies presenting automation, workflow, and colour management products.
Michael Ryan, head of Fespa Global Print Expo, said: “It’s so motivating to have such a strong vote of confidence from the supplier community for Fespa and our power to reinvigorate the speciality print industry after the challenges of the last two years.
“Suppliers who joined us in Amsterdam in October 2021 were reminded of the unique value of live events and the commercial advantage of connecting with customers and prospects face-to-face, so we’re delighted that many more exhibitors will reap these benefits in 2022.
“Now that businesses are back up and running and senior decision-makers are looking to secure their future investments, the importance of live shows to accelerate recovery has never been more significant.”
The show will be co-located with signage and visual communications event European Sign Expo 2022, whose platinum sponsor is Efka.
For UK visitors, the last two days of the show will coincide with Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. A four-day bank holiday weekend will take place from Thursday 2 June to Sunday 5 June to celebrate the Queen’s 70 years of service.
Ryan told Printweek: “When planning our international Fespa Global Print Expo, we consider several options that will be suitable for all participants who travel from over 100 countries. The size and length of a Fespa show, including build-up and break-down can make it challenging to secure availability in premium venues.
“As always, in planning for our 2022 edition, we reviewed multiple options and determined that Tuesday 31 May – Friday 3 June 2022 in Berlin was the best fit for our international audience. Feedback from exhibitors around this timing has been very positive.”
He added: “We do understand that two of these dates coincide with the extended Queen’s Jubilee weekend in the UK, which begins on 2 June. However, since UK visitors have the flexibility to attend Fespa Global Print Expo 2022 for the first two days of the show, we expect minimal impact on overall UK visitor participation, though we do anticipate that many will focus their visit to the earlier part of the week.
“In addition to the travel connections and venue suitability, we also consider the cultural and hospitality offerings of our host cities. Berlin is a vibrant capital with loads to see and do, so some UK visitors may well choose to take advantage of the extended bank holiday weekend to explore.”
