The Erdington, Birmingham-based business boosted its digital capacity after picking up work to produce annual booklets for several companies in the pension and insurance sectors.
The 60-staff, £5m-turnover business is producing around 350,000 colour brochures across five contracts on the new machine.
Steve Beeching, technical business development manager at FCS Lasermail, said: "We are making a transition to colour digital and the Xerox DocuColor 8002 investment is a great way to do that. We now have doubled the colour digital capacity than we had before."
FCS Lasermail's new Xerox can print at a speed of up to 80ppm and uses a low-gloss toner that is claimed to help produce a smooth matte finish to prints.
It can handle stocks up to 300gsm and is built with an in-line spectrophotometer that provides press performance data to the Xerox Automated Colour Quality Suite.
The new equipment joins a digital kit setup that includes InfoPrint 4100 machines, Xerox Nuvera 288 presses and a Konica Minolta bizhub printer.
