Escher-Grad Technologies has signed a reseller agreement with Fastek (UK) for its Cobalt-8 violet diode platesetter in the UK.
"We will be offering a complete reseller service not only of the Cobalt-8 system but also the VLF imagesetters," said Fastek UK sales director Ron Curwen.
"The attraction to the deal was the Cobalt-8, but the VLF puts us into direct competition with Barco, and we feel the VLF is faster as it uses roll film."
Fastek is also a reseller for Fujifilm.
It was formed over five years ago, has an annual turnover in the region of 1.2m and employs 12 people.
The Leeds-based company serves more than 170 customers.
Escher-Grad is based in Montreal, Canada and was set up in 1986.
