The Dundee printer, which specialises in the B3 market, is expecting to save around 1m sheets of paper a year with the new press because of short makeready times.
The 22-staff company added the Anicolor to handle full-colour short-run work and it joins a pressroom that includes an eight-colour Speedmaster perfector and a Printmaster QM 46.
Paul Anderson, managing director at Fairprint, said the Anicolor will focus on the shorter-run work in which it anticipates a time-saving of up to 25% compared with other presses.
"The new Anicolor helps us increase our service offering to customers while also meaning we can put the right job on the right press," he added.
The company, which grew sales 27% last year with a further increase of 28% so far this year, said the machine would help it save around 1m sheets a year, equivalent to around £1,000 a month.
Fairprint, which was established 13 years ago, serves a range of clients including blue-chip companies to "one-man bands".
"When new customers buy from us they don’t move away because they see that we have the systems, structure and service in place to make print buying easy," said Anderson.
