As a result users of wide-format printers for applications from proofing on desktop devices, all the way through to high-volume industrial production on EFI’s Vutek range of industrial printers, can automate their production workflows.

The integration is provided through a new configurator for the EFI products, which comes as standard with the Switch 11 update 2. Update 2 also includes an enhanced user interface as well as bug fixes.

"Crossroads is all about integration with third parties’ products, if you join Crossroads you agree to validate the Switch integrations and to support customers," said Enfocus global account manager for Crossroads and OEM Angelo Manno.

He added that any vendor whose products were integrated into Switch had to join the Crossroads community. This policy was introduced in 2010 to ensure adequate customer support.

Prior to that there had been a configurator for the EFI Fiery XF and Colorproof XF products but development and support had lapsed until the new alliance.
