Em-En-Ess named as NexPress beta site

An east London printer has been revealed as another NexPress beta site, and Heidelberg will announce orders for at least eight more machines for the UK market at Ipex.

Hackney Wick-based litho printer, Em-En-Ess, has become the fourth company to sign up to the NexPress Early Participation Programme.

The NexPress 2100 was installed at the 13-year-old company in November last year and operates as part of Em-En-Ess digital division, Clickonprint.com.

Clickonprint.com director Christopher Farino said: We just thought that the NexPress was a natural progression. We had been spending a lot of money on variable data jobs and saw this as a way of keeping some of that money in the company as well as opening other doors for us.

Clickonprint.com, which has a first year turnover target of 500,000, intends to develop its online presence to accommodate ordering and quotation.

Farino said that maintenance on the NexPress had been straightforward due to its Operator Replaceable Components, which can be switched over without the need for an engineer.

Clickonprint.com director Noel Kavanagh said: Its maintenance for idiots, if you take your time to learn. It is a very easy system to use.

The quality is good, although DryInk is a fusing system that can give a flat finish, so some work may need a laminate to help lift it.

He added that the firm had produced a number of A4 poster jobs for TDG Print Management.

Other NexPress beta companies include Printflow 86, Oxford-based Inform Group and a consortium of four London-based Prontaprint outlets.

Heidelberg DHV Division sales manager Chris Matthews said that the company would have two NexPress 2100s at Ipex along with DI and Digimaster machines.
