The move follows MAN Rolands adoption of a new integrated marketing strategy, which saw it change the names of national companies like PPS to make MAN Roland the focus.
Ellis will be responsible for leading MAN Rolands sales talks with the increasing number of pan-European print groups, such as Polestar and St Ives.
He will work across sales arms in Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Holland and Switzerland. Ellis also retains his UK role and will have close links with a team at MAN Roland in Germany.
MAN Roland says its Ipex results were beyond expectations, but chairman Gerd Finkbeiner said concrete sales figures should be taken with care, because they tend to be enriched with a pinch of fantasy. Among the orders taken were 20 sheetfed units for Man Sang in Hong Kong.
