The Blackburn-based printer, which produces schoolbooks, diaries and teachers resources, replaced its previous Bourg system because it "was getting long in the tooth".
EPS production director Martin Philbin said the Horizon was "faster and the set-up takes just a couple of minutes instead of the hour or so we were used to on the other machine".
The 4,500bph production line, supplied by GAE, was specified with three 10-station VAC-Turbo PowerCollators and a long-delivery conveyor.
Philbin said that previously, the 20-staff firm, which regularly finishes three sizes of book, would wait to run all the same size jobs together.
"This meant more planning and reduced turnaround times. But now we don't need to pick and choose what work we run next," he said.
Educational printer slashes finishing time with book production kit
Educational Printing Services (EPS) has cut set-up time from hours "to minutes" and significantly reduced turnaround times by investing in a Horizon SPF/FC-200A book production line.
