The London-headquartered business produces academic and vocational qualifications and testing documents to schools, colleges and employers, handling more than 6m papers each year.
It has ordered eight machines, adding to the seven existing ones it has in order to handle exam papers. The machines replace a number of legacy joggers.
Edexcel’s engineering manager, Graham Montague, explains: "The joggers are essential for separating the pages of the exams before they are fed into the readers. They remove static and ensure smooth feeding."
Intelligent Finishing Systems, which supplied the machines, said that it believed the installation was the largest single installation of the systems in the world.
Horizon’s air-assisted upright PJ100 jogger can jog in a vertical or horizontal position while its V-shaped tray allows the easy jogging of a criss-cross stacked pile.
