Under the deal, Scitex Vision's CORjet printer will have the option of being driven from Esko-Graphics' Scope workflow.
"Printers will now become more competitive by streamlining production," said Ren Delbar, a senior vice president at Esko-Graphics. Jean-Marc Blum, Scitex Vision's vice president for strategic businesses for packaging and textiles, said Esko-Graphics' customers could enjoy "full integration".
Producers of corrugated packaging and point-of-sale displays use Esko-Graphics BackStage server and DeskPack plug-ins for Adobe Illustrator.
Firms can use this single pre-press system to drive conventional kit as well as the CORjet. In addition, using Scope to drive the Esko-Graphics Kongsberg cutting table, which can be integrated with the CORjet, allows unattended digital cutting and creasing of up to 400 sheets.
Pre-press and digital print firms are increasingly integrating pre-press workflows with digital presses. Earlier this year Esko-Graphics and Artwork Systems teamed up with HP Indigo.
Meanwhile, Esko-Graphics is to integrate its InkWizard, part of its Scope workflow, with MY PrinTech FMsix to improve colour quality in packaging print.
Esko-Graphics said the kit linked up with MAN Roland and Artwork Systems equipment.
