DYSS expands European distribution

Korean printing equipment manufacturer DYSS has bolstered its European operations with new distributors in Germany, Italy, Serbia, Spain and the UK.

In Germany it has appointed Farben-Frickell, in Italy Creative Graphic Technologies, in Serbia Graphobazar, and in Spain Marabu.

In the UK B&P Graphic Supplies will sell the firm's range of UV printers and digital cutters as part of its new focus on the UV print and cut sector of the market.

DYSS European channel manager Peter Barton said the company had seen "a hell of a lot of interest in Europe" for its machines, which includes the Apollo UV combi machine.

He added that DYSS, which has 10 installations in the UK and the same number on mainland Europe, was an established business, which had 20 years of heritage in screen printing press production prior to launching its digital kit and that its manufacturing skills were "second to none."

He highlighted consumer electronics giant LG's order for 21 DYSS digital presses to print the surrounds of its flat-panel TVs as evidence of its reputation.

The firm is targeting digital printers moving to UV from solvent production and screen printers moving into digital for the first time - leapfrogging solvent for UV technology.

In the UK Sun Chemical is its dealer for the screen print sector.

B&P Graphics has a 2.2m-wide Apollo combi printer in its Basingstoke showroom, and will add a 2x3m version of the firm's X7 cutting table in the next couple of months. A 16 printhead 2.2m Apollo running six-colours plus white will cost €100,000 (£88,600), while the 3x2m table complete with router, dust extraction and vision system costs €90,000.

At the recent Viscom Milan show DYSS showed an integrated automated packaging production line that combined a 24-head printer with a cutting table that could print, punch and then crease and V-cut sheets, which Barton said was unique.
