DuPont will launch a proofer that uses Creo's Veris continuous ink-jet proofing engine with its own colour management, ink and media later this year.
"The imaging technology used on the Veris delivers superior quality printing," said DuPont Color Communication global business director Paolo Barbieri. "When associated with the Cromalin colour management and media it will offer a unique high-level contract proofing solution."
At the time of publication DuPont was unavailable to comment on whether the Veris was in addition to the firm's current top-of-the-range proofer, the AQ series, or a replacement for it.
DuPont and Creo are also working on producing a Creo branded version of DuPont's b2 proofer, although a launch date has yet to be set.
Creo said that the b2's unique features, including a built in automated spectrophotometer, made it attractive for premium proofing applications.
Creo will continue to sell its Integris range of drop-on-demand ink-jet proofers, which are based on Epson printers.
