The DP-S850 (pictured) and DP-S550 print 150 A3 pages a minute and target commercial firms and inplants. The presses can produce jobs such as newsletters, corporate stationery, direct mail and flyers. The DP-S850 is designed for high-quality photographic work, while the DP-S550 is used for more text-heavy documents.
According to Duplo UK marketing manager Peter Jolly, the launch of the devices signals a change in strategy for its ‘Mini Print Room’ arm.
“We intend to attack the commercial print market,” he said. “These are quicker additions to our range and have a larger capacity for loading.”
The DP-S850 and the DP-S550 are designed for runs of between 30 and 5,000. Both can print onto stocks of 50 to 210gsm and achieve 150 impressions per minute.
He added: “Printers will also benefit from an increased stack capacity of 1,200 sheets, making the machine ideally suited to short-run commercial lengths.”
Both products can be linked up to finishing products in Duplo’s Mini Print Room range, including collators, bookletmakers, folders and binders.
Duplo is targeting users where cost per copy is “absolutely vital.”
