The updated model of the DB-200, launched in 1999, is a compact, single-clamp perfect binder capable of tape binding, padding, case binding and perfect binding and is available from Duplo for £6,495.
The machine also comes with a double-pass notching feature, which allows deeper glue penetration and gives
a stronger bind, according to Duplo marketing manager Peter Jolly.
He said: "This is an extremely significant launch for us. While in recent years we have expanded our binding range upwards, our desktop binders are extremely relevant and still in massive demand with the trend toward shorter runs."
The binding process includes a double pass over the notching system to ensure thorough glue penetration. The machine also now uses a wider notching blade that cuts deeper and wider notches into the book block.
