The DPB-500 PUR perfect binder follows on from the DuBinder, Duplo's first machine for the high-end perfect-binding sector, which was launched in 2006.
According to Duplo marketing director Peter Jolly, the machine is aimed at digital printers that handle difficult stocks.
He said: "The DuBinder would stick digital stock in certain situations, depending on the grade of paper and coating.
"However, the PUR machine guarantees a suitable solution for gluing. If you are in high-end digital with a multitude of applications, sizes and outputs, PUR is the way to go."
The machine can be used for a number of applications such as text books, annual reports, art books, instruction manuals and photo books.
It is designed to be used with a Norsdon closed-glue-tank system and runs at speeds of up to 525 books an hour. It is capable of binding a maximum booklet size of 360x320mm and a minimum size of 120x120mm.
It is currently available at £90,495 and Jolly added that he hoped to see the machine installed in at least two UK companies in the near future. The machine will be on show at Northprint next month.
Duplo has also increased its direct sales force with the appointments of regional business managers Tracy Dineen and Sandy Beard.
