They will demonstrate the production of a booklet using the Universal Printer Pre- and Post-Processing Interface on the Oc stand.
Dominic Quennell, vice-president of global marketing at Duplo International, said Drupa would be a show where UP3i would "put its trousers on".
"Over the past couple of years we've been able to show partial demonstrations but this is the first time when we can show the whole process," he said. Quennell explained the key advantage of UP3i was it allowed for full compatibility between machines from different manufacturers and therefore protected printers' investment in technology.
"The beauty of UP3i is that it releases printers from the shackles of proprietary standards. In theory you can connect a Heidelberg to an Oc, then to a Duplo. It's a legacy issue," he said.
Educational sessions on UP3i will also be available. Other manufacturers that are members of the UP3I initiative are Heidelberg, Hunkeler, IBM, Stralfors and Xerox.
