The two, 19-year-old Aaron Lambert and 37-year-old Christopher Brown, appeared before Kettering Magistrates in Northamptonshire on 13 June.
They face charges relating to the theft of copies of the latest Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Both men were charged with offering two stolen copies of the book to a Sun newspaper reporter.
The pair, from Tresham Street, Kettering, were also charged with firearms offences.
Lambert is also charged with stealing two copies of the book from a distribution centre in Corby.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is set for global release on 16 July.
