DPI invests in Duplo kit to prepare for increased workload

Digital Printed Image (DPI) has invested in two pieces of finishing kit from Duplo, as part of a move to drive growth in 2009.

A DC645 Ducreaser and Ideal 5222 DigiCut guillotine are the first new pieces of machinery to be installed at the Dorset-based site.

Managing director Robert Jupp told PrintWeek that he is also looking at purchasing new digital presses.

According to Jupp, the company has picked up one new contract and extended another to produce booklets for bluechip city-based companies and workload for the company is expected to increase by 50-75% over the next 12 months.

Jupp said: "The new site and kit has also seen two additional staff brought in, with the site open late into the night.

"We do a lot of on-demand printing and only really have a 24-48 hour turnaround, so we needed to look at increasing the hours."

The digital printer has also just completed a move to a new 278sqm facility, almost double the size of its previous site.

DPI employs six staff and will be looking to record a turnover of around £350,000 for this financial year.
