Adriana Kaszonyi was a director and majority shareholder of AK Direct Services Ltd, an ecommerce and mail order retail business.
The Insolvency Service report into her conduct found that Kaszonyi applied for a Bounce Back Loan (BBL) using overstated turnover figures.
On 22 May 2020 Kaszonyi applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of AK Direct, and declared that its turnover for calendar year 2019 was £226,000.
However, accounts for the period ended 31 March 2019 showed turnover of £87,122; and accounts for the year ended 31 March 2020 showed turnover of £74,505.
The taxpayer-backed BBL scheme to support firms during the Covid-19 pandemic allowed companies to apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover.
Kaszonyi has been banned for 10 years for her conduct, with the ban effective from today (2 January 2025).
Her month of birth is March 1974 and her last known address was in Zalau in Romania.
AK Direct went into voluntary liquidation in July 2023.
The Statement of Affairs details a shortfall of just under £45,262 of which £44,662 relates to the BBL through NatWest.
