Dims! picks up fifth JDF interoperability certificate

Software developer Dims! has picked up its fifth certification for JDF interoperability from the Printing Industries of America (PIA), which is the testing body of the CIP4.

The company said that the certificate, which verifies its MIS Dims.net to CIP4's Finishing Interoperability Conformance Specification (ICS), is the first of its kind to have been issued.

Dims! added that its software is the only MIS to date to have been certified for both MIS to WebPress and MIS to Finishing, as well as the only one to have been certified for five different JDF interfaces.

Dims.net's other three PIA certificates are for MIS to Conventional Printing ICS, MIS to Prepress and Layout Creator to Imposition ICS and Base ICS.

Tonnie Marneth, chief technology officer at Dims!, said: "We have proven to the graphic arts industry that our products operate with the latest technologies available and we will continue to create opportunities for our customers to further enhance their business performance."

Mark Bohan, PIA vice president of technology and research, said: "Dims! is setting new standards for JDF certification in the industry. Their dedication to the advancement of JDF for the industry is commendable."
