The heads feature 256 channels arranged in a 100dpi configuration giving them a slim profile and enabling them to be nested for high printing densities.
Operating at 33kHz and 20kHz, the Emerald models sit alongside the existing printheads in the Sapphire range aimed at material deposition applications and the general purpose binary Polaris printheads.
Dimatix marketing director Ed Chrusciel said: "The Q-Class is quite a remarkable product for us with a fast adoption rate. It is being used in a wide variety of applications and market segments (wide format graphics for both very high-end and very low end), ceramics, materials deposition, scanning printers, near single pass, and single pass)."
Q-Class heads are already in use in machines from manufacturers such as Runjiang Group, GongZheng Technology Development, Honghua Digital Technology Stock, Wit-Color Digital Science & Technology, Teckwin International, Hi-Jet and Anhui Liyu Computer Equipment Manufacturing.
Chrusciel said he expects devices from European manufacturers and others to be announced in March 2011.
