Digital Print World to move to bigger venue

Digital Print World (DPW) is to move to Earls Court 2 next year after interest from the first day exceeded expectations from organisers and exhibitors.

The three-day show, which concludes on Thursday (October 28), is to relocate from its current venue in Olympia. Organisers IIR said that it was confident the move was the right one and is based on the show's growth from last year.

"It ensures that we can bring more and more exhibitors to the show and is a reflection that the digital sector is becoming increasingly mainstream," said IIR marketing director Sarah Harvey.

She added that after the first day there was a "massive buzz" with visitors queuing to get into the exhibition before it opened.

Exhibitors shared IIR's confidence and added that as well as large numbers of visitors, the quality of buyers was also impressive.

"We have had serious people visiting our stand asking serious questions," said ROI Distribution director Tim Cox.

"This show took time to get going last year but the activity from visitors this year is excellent," added Screen managing director Brian Filler. "On the first day we've had demonstration after demonstration on our TruePress 344."

HP country manger for DPS Adrian Stark added that his stand had received "a lot of interest" while Dalim Software director of marketing Gee Ranasinha said that he was "extremely happy with the quality of attendees".

One of the visitors at the show, Fulmar group marketing director Michael Austin added that after Drupa, DPW offered him the opportunity to take a closer look at kit and ask more detailed questions. "It is a more intimate show than Drupa and you are never rushed," he said.
