Digital print given specialist area at packaging shows

Increased interest in digital print for packaging has led to the sector getting its own area at the organisation's packaging shows this month, tradeshow specialist EasyFairs has claimed.

Easyfairs will host four shows, on 24-25 February, for the packaging industry at Birmingham's NEC – Packaging Innovations, Ecopack, Packtech and Contract Pack.

Digital print has had a presence at the event in the past but, according to EasyFairs managing director Matt Benyon, it has now been allocated its own space, the Print for Packaging Zone.

Benyon said: "We have always had print for packaging, but we realised that digital print for packaging was an increasing sector. We felt that at this time it is gaining momentum.

"We spoke to manufacturers and they were very keen to get involved. The area will get its own identity and will be based next to our print-to-learn shop."

Companies that will be exhibiting at the event include Roland, Xerox, Xeikon, Epson and Konica Minolta.

Benyon added that EasyFairs was keen to get printers themselves involved in the show.
