Walthamstow-headquartered Delta has held the Lidl account for three years and the retailer is one of the group’s biggest clients. The new, two-year contract follows a competitive tender process.
It encompasses all in-store POS and client-facing signage, as well as additional creative services and store installation work that Delta did not handle previously.
Lidl has more than 760 stores in the UK and is continuing to expand. Lidl GB marketing director Claire Farrant said she was glad that Delta “took on the challenge and really engaged in this tender process”.
“We are looking forward to continuing to build strong working relationships within the Delta team, and together we will build robust POS solutions that delivers our strategic brand messages in innovative and sustainable ways.”
Delta Group chief executive Jason Hammond said he was delighted at the outcome and praised the Delta employees involved for their team spirit.
“We are thrilled that Delta’s contract with Lidl GB has been renewed, allowing us to continue to deliver excellent value, innovation and exceptional customer service to one of our largest clients. In addition to supplying all printed in-store marketing material, we are delighted to have been entrusted with providing additional services – namely creative and installations – to one of the UK’s fastest growing brands.
“I wanted to take the opportunity to thank and congratulate everyone who was involved with the retender. The effort and enthusiasm from our various internal teams – from Account Management to Structural Design and Installation – really shone through and felt that it was the Delta team spirit that distinguished us from our competition.”
Earlier this year Delta adopted a new brand identity, enhanced its workflow automation software and consolidated its services under three divisions: Creative, Display and Technology.
The firm also said its EFI Nozomi C18000 single-pass inkjet press for corrugated board, the first to be installed in the UK, was performing well. A spokesperson said: "By being able to accommodate customer requests for versioned or variable jobs, last-minute edits, and changing buying decisions the EFI Nozomi has been a real game-changer for Delta and our clients.
"We’re able to produce cost-effective, on-demand and just-in-time jobs, fast-cycle proofs and prototypes with this incredibly powerful, dynamic digital printing press."
In the first year since Delta acquired the Nozomi it has produced more than four million square metres of output and over 3,000 jobs, split over three shifts.
Delta had sales of £92.6m last year, and employs around 800 staff.
