Installed at the Pontypridd company last month, the Titanium 330-R is an all-in-one digital label cutter that digitally die-cuts any shape label, cold laminates, removes the excess label material around each die-cut shape, and slits.
Eight automatic alignment cutting heads produce a cutting speed of 12m/min. The finished product is automatically collated into a reel and nine slitting knives cut at 60m/min with waste removed.
DecTek managing director Mike Beese said: “This is a real game changer for the digital label market and a revolution for short run requirements.
“Customers are no longer required to place large minimum quantity orders and waste many of the labels they receive, because digital printing and cutting has no minimum order quantity.
“Typically, many of these digitally printed jobs contain lots of different designs or variations, have a variety of different container or pack sizes, and seasonal changes.”
IGS is the distributor for the UK and Ireland of the Titanium kit, which is manufactured by JWEI.
IGS managing director Peter Flynn commented: “This collaboration underscores our commitment to providing best in class finishing solutions to DecTek, a valued partner.
“Their investment in our cutting technology over the past four years is a testament to their dedication to growth and excellence. We look forward to further strengthening our partnership and supporting their continued success.”
The machine costs £69,000 from IGS including delivery, installation, training, and twelve months’ parts and labour warranty.
DecTek sister company Big Bang Print has also recently installed a raft of new production kit, including a Konica Minolta BizHub AccurioLabel 320 label press and a Moll Compact Gluer.
