DCP launches image software upgrade

DCP Systems has launched a more user-friendly version of its software for creating panoramic images from a series of smaller pictures.

Panorama Maker Stitcher v5 is now fully automated when joining graphic files to form a single large-format file.

Images are produced using a drag-and-drop interface, and the software features 16-bit colour support, correction of lens distortion and automatic colour balancing.

Sheffield-based DCP Systems is targeting the software at pre-press professionals who want to create expansive images but are restricted by small scanners.

It will launch in a series of roadshows next month with a new feature, Movie Export, due in November, which exports panoramas as movie files.

Stitcher 5 runs on Macintosh OSX or later and Windows 98 SE, 2000 SP2 or XP platforms. Users of versions 4 and 5 can obtain a free upgrade from www.dcp-systems.co.uk.
