The company has also moved into a new, purpose-built 650m2 factory and installed a fifth Mimaki large-format digital press, in an investment of around 800,000 in the past year.
Data Image partner Alan Farfort said that the current staff of 12 could increase by around 50% over the next 18 months on the back of the investment.
"This brings us into the volume market, so it's a new step for our clients. Now we're getting into the longer run lengths and we can print directly onto the substrates," he said.
"Our issue was that we were printing at very good quality, and therefore to put a standard flatbed printer in could have degraded quality. We tend to compare our quality to litho, and the Vutek is coming as close as possible to that."
