Danwood snaps up Scottish firm in growth drive

The Danwood Group has bought a Scottish distributor and unveiled plans to turn Danwood Scotland into a 15m business within five years.

The firm bought Paragon Systems in a multi-million pound deal, giving the digital supplier three "strategic sales centres" in Scotland. It intends to extend this to six, with the opening of sites in Edinburgh, Dundee and Inverness next year.

Danwood divisional director of Scotland, and former co-owner of Paragon, Allan Bridges   said: "The move towards Danwood was a natural progression. We felt that to move the business forward we needed an infrastructure that only a company such as it could provide."

Office supplier Paragon was formed 14 years ago and has around 2,500 customers and 3,500 installed machines in Scotland. It currently has sites in Glasgow, Aberdeen and a headquarters in Livingstone, which will be the base for Danwood Scotland.
