The honorary award, is granted to the livery company's nominees to signify their contributions to the print industry.
Mawson’s award follows BPIF chief executive Charles Jarrold’s own commendation in February. It has been granted to the managing director as he approaches his 40th year in the print industry.
He said: “I started out as a print engineering apprentice at Crabtree Vickers, so it is nice to receive the Freedom as I reach this anniversary.
“This honour, and my connections to the Stationers’ Company, provide the advantages of connections and networking. For example, we have been working on a project with the R&D department of a packaging firm and through a Stationers’ event I was able to meet the director which then sped things on a little more.”
CyanX is starting to reap the rewards of its latest kit reseller agreement, which will see it sell modular finishing lines from Australian manufacturer Trimatt across Europe. The company has now secured its first installation.
According to Mawson, CyanX has now received “several enquiries” about the kit, which ranges in price from £125,000 to £250,000.
Trimatt finishing lines are typically used to tip on cards – such as credit cards or SIM cards – to carrier paper or to add personalisation through inkjet technology.
