Corby workers agree terms

Amicus GPMS members at Quebecor World in Corby have voted to accept the firms planned 6m cost savings.

As revealed in PrintWeek last week, the savings include around 70 job cuts, changes to terms and conditions and salary cuts. All three chapels voted in favour.

"What we expect now is the company to invest, as it promised, in the two new presses. If it doesn't then its part of deal will have collapsed," said Amicus GPMS East of England branch secretary Vernon Robson.

New terms and conditions are expected to come into effect in the next couple of weeks.
