Communisis has completed its restructuring several months ahead of schedule and is increasing its presence on the continent to service key customers.
The group plans to set up Communisis two in Belgium on a 1,200m2 site on a Brussels science park.
The operation will be based on Communisis one, the groups digital asset management and creative design operation.
Communisis chief executive David Jones said it was so far, so good for the group. Last year it bought Waddington and the printing division of Rexam then divested 10 non-core businesses, including Howitts.
Communisis then arranged strategic alliances with the purchasers.
Turnover from continuing operations for the year to 31 December 2000 was 194m. Pre-tax profit was 6.84m. Its e-comms division remains the star performer, posting margins of 24.9%.
Communisis also plans to close its Acton security print operation, reducing the divisions sites to three. Jones said staff would relocate where possible but admitted there would be job losses among the 100 workers.
