The Derby-based company's managing director John Greene said that it was focusing on short- to medium-run digital colour book printing.
He said: "Doing this gives us a number of benefits: we are more efficient and also save time and money on sending work out. The ability to keep everything under the one roof also creates a smoother production."
The four-clamp binder was added to a Horizon StitchLiner. It binds books up to 65mm thick at up to 1,350 copies per hour.
According to Greene, the machine's vertical elliptical track design has helped to ensure that space could be found for the kit in Colourstream's busy facility.
The company selected a PUR machine specifically for the digital runs it handles.
Greene added: "We can now use a greater variety of thicker and coated stocks as we're confident the glue will hold the pages together."
