The installation, which was handled by prepress distributor Service Offset Services (SOS), comes as ISO 14001-accredited Colourscript starts a push for FSC accreditation.
Managing director Steve Williams said: "We are constantly looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint. Installing a processless system was a key ingredient and we are constantly reviewing our suppliers and energy consumption to look for ways to improve further still."
Williams said the fact that the Fujifilm plate did not require a gumming unit had proved a key factor in the East London-based company's decision.
"We had a good look at what was available on the market, thoroughly researching three alternative solutions. Fujifilm and Screen came out on top as the PlateRite system is fast becoming the preferred platesetter on the market and PRO-T is the most stable and reliable processless plate available," he said.
Colourscript, which runs both Heidelberg B1 litho and Oce CPS900 digital presses, produces a range of print for corporate, financial, publishing, design and print management clients.
