Hayward stepped into her new role on 13 February after spending 22 years with wide-format specialist Granthams, where she focused on technical sales for Mimaki, Graphtec and HP. Hayward joins a team of consultants that sell across CMYUK's key brands of Mimaki, EFI and Zünd.
CMYUK has two sites: its headquarters in Woodley, Berkshire and a demo and training centre in Shrewsbury, which the firm bought in 2015 to improve national coverage, investing £1.3m in a fit-out.
CMYUK group director Robin East said Hayward “couldn’t have joined at a better time” as the business continues its planned growth strategy.
"Sue has enormous experience, particularly in Mimaki products and sign and graphics products. We're delighted she has come to join us; her experience speaks for itself," he said.
"We can only grow with experienced people. It's very much based on relationships and technical expertise and that's what Sue offers," he added.
East said: "We made a huge investment in our new site and it was really important for us to grow our market share on the S&G product range. We're the biggest UV reseller now and we are determined to get hundreds and hundreds of machines out there."
East highlighted the firm's distributor agreement with Ritrama, signed three weeks ago, as an integral part of its growth plans for its three hardware brands going forward.
"From a technical standpoint we use Ritrama self-adhesive vinyls on the Mimaki solvents and UVs because we think it's the premium product and now that we have a direct relationship with Ritrama, it ties in nicely."
East said a big growth area for the company going forward was the packaging market, both in printers and cutting sytems. The company is planning to make two more appointments in the near future, he added.
On her new role, Hayward stated: “My extensive experience gleaned over the years will enable me to dovetail my knowledge in with CMYUK’s existing sales teams. This is becoming increasingly important as customers are looking to diversify with innovative applications but need to know that they are selecting the right equipment and ink formulation to achieve what they want.”
