CITO's RSP Inline System for print finishing drew the crowds at Northprint this week .
Designed to mount on one of the units of a press it provides the ability to perforate, cut and crease inline and can also be used for spot varnishing.
First previewed at Drupa, it is receiving its first UK showing at Northprint being demonstrated on a two colour Heidelberg Speedmaster 74.
Heidelberg has signed a two-year partnership deal with CITO to sell it in the UK.
"So far we have had numerous enquiries about the system," said Heidelberg marketing manager sheetfed 50 x 74 & 74 x 102, Steve Cavey.
"The only limitations to the system is the printers own imagination," said Cavey.
CITO UK technical director John Bray also said that some 20 systems had now been installed in the UK, and over 170 worldwide since the system had its first outing at Drupa.
Cavey said that the RSP Inline System will benefit the increasing numbers of printers bringing finishing work in-house. He said it complemented and enhanced Heidelbergs products.
"They will gain better utilisation and return on their investment by adding the system to their equipment," Cavey said. "The beauty of it is that the printer has control."
The system works by mounting a RSP impression cylinder jacket onto the impression cylinder.
A base plate is clamped onto the blanket cylinder, and then the RSP mylar grid is then secured onto a pin bar and fixed with a locking bar.
RSP offset creasing strips are then applied and the mylar grid is then fixed onto the base plate.
