Stockting said that, after 20 years in consumer magazine publishing, she "wanted to give something back by working with a charity that has resonance with my professional experience".
She said: "Having met the other trustees, I found them to be so passionately engaged in the charity that I felt I’d be able to contribute in an environment of like-minded individuals."
As a trustee, Stockting will work with the charity's newly formed fundraising and marketing department team. She previously has held positions at Carlton Screen Advertising and at Condé Nast Publications.
Paul Rudd, chairman of the PCC, said: "We’re delighted that Stockting has accepted the appointment at a time when we’re concentrating our efforts on broadening our industry support base and increasing the number of people we help financially."
