Change at the top of Fujifilm UK

Fujifilm’s Keith Dalton has moved to a pan-European role, with Chris Broadhurst stepping up to take over the reins in the UK.

Dalton has headed up the Japanese manufacturer’s Graphic Systems business in the UK for 14 years. He has taken up a new role as head of service for the business across EMEA, covering service and application support.

Dalton said he would miss dealing with the many UK customers that he has known over the years, but was looking forward to the new challenge. He said that Fujifilm’s ability to provide high-level support to customers had increasingly come to the fore, as the company’s product portfolio becomes more focused on equipment. “I look forward to taking our business forward in this crucial area,” he said.

Commenting on the news, Lascelle Barrow, co-owner at long-time Fujifilm customer Augustus Martin, paid tribute to Dalton’s tenure at the supplier: “I’ve known Keith for many years and he’s been one of the fairest and most honest people I’ve met. He conducts business in a very professional way, and I have a lot of respect for him.”

National sales manager Broadhurst, who has been with the business for more than 25 years, becomes general manager of the UK operation as a result. He said: “I look forward to building on the excellent work that Keith has done over the last decade-and-a-half to position Fujifilm as a significant force in the UK market.”

Broadhurst (pictured below) joined when the firm's products were handled by dealer Hanimex prior to the establishment of Fujifilm's UK graphics wing, and has seen the business evolve from a consumables supplier, into inks with the purchase of Sericol, and then into equipment with its inkjet wide-format and Jet Press range.

He said he would adapt the existing sales structure in light of the changes, rather than look to directly replace his own role. "I work with an excellent team and it's an exciting time for all of us. The driver is to get the business recognised as a capital equipment supplier while still moving the consumables business forward," he said.

It's a busy period for the company, which has just begun its month-long Jet Press 720S open house in Bedford, and will be showing the new Inca B1 sheetfed inkjet device on its booth at Fespa next week

The new roles are effective immediately.
