Cenveo looks to raise B2B profile with Indycar deal

Stamford, Ct-based commercial printer Cenveo has inked a deal with auto racing's Indycar league in a move that will not only help the open-wheel racing series and its bNet sponsors with printing and visual communications, delivery solutions, and fulfillment services, but also help raise Cenveo's profile in the B2B community.

In an interview with PrintWeek, Cenveo Sales VP Barri Klingaman would not comment on the dollar amounts of the deal, but noted the partnership will provide some new opportunities as INDYCAR CEO Randy Bernard looks to bring more corporate sponsorships and fans to the racing league.

"Randy Bernard has generated an excitement around the Indycar series and has some powerful players as sponsors, including Verizon, Sunoco and Izod," Klingaman said. "So the value for us is to work with the league and provide graphic communications programs from a single source. But what we're also able to do is offer those same efficiencies to teams, tracks and sponsors.

The deal, which was formalized at last month's Indianapolis 500, will leverage a number of Cenveo products and services, including commercial and digital printing, envelopes, forms and labels, publisher services, e-commerce, and distribution services.

"What Randy Bernard is doing is creating this growth model for the Indycar series with everybody having skin in the game, including the business sponsors," added Klingaman, who put together the deal for Cenveo. "We believe our partnership has created opportunities both within the league and with the other sponsors, because we can offer them a global footprint for all their printing and print services needs."
