The event will include contributions from Wallis’s many friends in the industry, from his days in the typesetting and pre-press manufacturing sector, print education and publishing. Selected items from his archive will also be on show during the evening.
It will in no sense be a memorial for Lawrence. It will instead be a celebration of his life and unique contribution to the industry, said Andrew Boag, who is helping to organise the event.
The celebration will take place at the St Bride Institute on 5 March from 7pm. To reserve a place contact 020 7353 3331 or info@stbridefoundation.org.
Any ex-colleagues or friends of Wallis who wish to say a few words at the event should contact Andrew Boag at andrew@boag.co.uk.
