CDMS makes 'significant' investment to aid move towards transpromo

CDMS aims to capitalise on the growth of transpromo printing following a "significant" investment in two InfoPrint 5000s and two Xerox DocuTech 180 machines.

The marketing services company will use the new kit to produce some of the 300m bills, statements and letters it prints annually.

Richard Higginbotham, marketing manager at CDMS, said the investment was "a natural progression" for the company, which would allow it to enhance its end-to-end service.

"Transpromo was somewhere we wanted to go and this new investment allows us to do that while also giving us a considerable capacity boost," he said.

The company said the InfoPrint pair would help handle its one-to-one marketing material, including transpromo statements and business documents, as well as producing transactional mailings.

CDMS will use the two Xerox DocuTech cut-sheet printers to output high-volume jobs that require the use of highlight colour on documents such as statements and marketing offers.

Chris Brooks, sales and marketing director at CDMS, said the investments were "specifically targeted at printing environments where flawless print quality, outstanding reliability and high speed are critical factors".

The company is located in Whiston, Merseyside, and operates from a 1,115sqm facility.

It employs 340 staff and serves sectors including finance, retail, travel and telecoms.
