Trent Peek was set to cycle the 40 miles to and from work to the Nottingham print and creative agency’s headquarters every day last week to raise money for Sport Relief until the company chose to implement work-from-home measures to keep employees safe.
He completed the challenge on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 March before postponing the effort. The fundraising page is still open and Peek will complete the challenge at a later date.
In the meantime, to combat the ever-growing shortage of hand sanitising gel, CCM is now offering its current supply of 50ml and 100ml bottles to organisations such as hospitals, as well as large-scale companies that need it most at prices matching historical levels before demand shot up.
Peek said: “Fortunately, at CCM we have a strong and reliable direct supply chain and therefore during such a testing, uncertain time we feel it’s important to utilise our strengths to help those most in need.
“To show our support and commitment we’re offering these products at cost and will attempt to price match to companies who are struggling to source from their usual supply chain. We realise that companies may already be facing huge losses because of the virus and any increase in costs can have drastic effects.
“All customers will be required to do is supply a member of our team with a previous purchase order for what they have historically paid and we will in all cases attempt, at the very least, to price match. This may mean a loss for our business, but we believe that an increase in public health far outweighs a loss in profits.”
Founded 20 years ago, CCM has been enjoying a period of growth which has it on track to reach £4m turnover this year. It has a team of 18 staff after restructuring its management team and recruiting three new members of staff at the start of 2020.
