CB Printforce UK shuttered

Product range included magazines and journals

On-demand book and journal printer CB Printforce UK has gone into administration.

The Biggleswade business was part of the Netherlands-headquartered Printforce group of companies, and was established five years ago.

It specialised in print-on-demand of softbound and hardback books, magazines and journals and operated a zero warehousing business model.

CB Printforce UK Ltd filed a Notice of Intention to Appoint Administrators on 30 September, with Sarah Cook and Andrew John of FRP Advisory subsequently appointed on 11 October.

Printweek understands the firm has ceased trading.

CB Printforce UK and Printforce group managing partner Rombout Eikelenboom had not responded to requests for comment at the time of writing.

In its abridged accounts for calendar year 2022 CB Printforce UK had negative shareholders’ funds of £1.67m, more than double the prior year’s negative figure of £801,259.

It employed 34 at the time of the accounts.

Netherlands-based CB Printforce BV lodged a fixed and floating charge over the UK wing’s property and undertakings in April.

Eikelenboom previously said the UK had sales of more than £5m and was pushing for growth when the business made a major investment in digital printing and post-press kit a year ago.

At the time the overall group had sales of around €21m (£17.5m).

A source close to the business said the continental operations were unaffected.

Note: Printforce (Northern) Ltd, based in Bury, and Printforce (Staffs) Ltd based in Newcastle-under-Lyme are both completely separate and unconnected businesses.
